Dave Forest has a 20-year career identifying, founding and funding mineral development opportunities, particularly in the Americas and Asia, and researching commodities markets and projects. As a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Sunward Resources (TSX: SWD), he was directly involved in raising $80 million in equity financing from investors including Robert Friedland, Lukas Lundin, Paulson & Co, Electrum Strategic Opportunities, The Baupost Group and Tocqueville Asset Management. Mr. Forest oversaw the development of a 10-million-ounce gold resource at the Titiribi gold-copper porphyry project, which was sold to NovaCopper (now Trilogy Metals) in 2015.
Mr. Forest co-founded Asia Pacific Mining Limited through the purchase of the Myanmar (formerly Burma) assets of Ivanhoe Mines in 2011. Asia Pacific Mining went on to become the first Western-led exploration company to be granted a modern, large-scale mineral license in Myanmar. The company has raised more than $6.5 million privately.
Mr. Forest also founded and serves as Managing Director of N-Side Mining Technology Pte Limited, a firm developing global mineral exploration projects using proprietary LongWave InfraRed (LWIR) satellite imaging. He was Managing Director of Notela Resource Advisors Ltd., an advisory firm analyzing and designing global investment opportunities in the natural resource sector. Mr. Forest's analysis on natural resources has been featured on MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider and Time.com, and he was named to the NexTen top mining professional under 40 years old. He holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Geology from the University of Alberta.
Neil Pendock, Ph.D. (Applied Mathematics)
Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Pendock brings over 30 years of experience in the development of algorithms and software for processing and analyzing remote sensing and geophysical data. During 25 years as Exclusive Consultant to Anglo American plc, between 1985 and 2010, he developed the RASTUS software package for processing data from the ASTER satellite system, as well as a Bayesian analysis system for processing and interpreting data from the next-generation WorldView3 satellite. Dr. Pendock also developed and implemented the HyMap software system for De Beers Group, using airborne hyperspectral imaging to map mineral deposits of diamonds, gold and base metals – remotely identifying over 17 separate kimberlite bodies in one survey in India, and highly acclaimed by management as one of the most effective exploration tools utilized by the company. Dr. Pendock has developed software and technology for processing and interpretation of gravimetric, magnetic, and radiometric data, as well as spectral imaging of drill core. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Tom Gmerek, M.Sc (Remote Sensing)
Mr. Gmerek is an accomplished geologist with over 8 years of global exploration experience across the entire spectrum of mineral resources. Throughout the course of his career he has carried out all stages of exploration across Southern Africa, North and South America, The Middle East, and Asia. Tom's talents lie in early-stage, green field exploration including project generation, regional targeting, permit acquisition, and initial geochemical and geophysical sampling. He is the head of Exploration for Zamare, a Zambian focussed exploration company working towards discovering new battery metal resources, as well as an independent consultant to other explorers, which have included SRK and Ma'aden (the Saudi State Mining Company). He holds a B.Sc. in Geosciences from The University of St Andrews, Scotland, and a M.Sc. in Remote Sensing from University College London, U.K.
Triveni Singh, M.Sc (Geology)
Mr. Singh is a seasoned geologist with over 11 years of experience in mineral exploration, project generation and development in over 15 countries from South America, Africa, Middle-East, Central Asia and South-East Asia. He has traveled extensively for project generation and is deft in mineral prospect idenfication for follow-up, detailed exploration. He was a consulted for the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, The European Union an as advior to Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan, and for SRK Consulting for Maáden Gold Exploration (the state Saudi Arabian mining company).
Juan David Arroyave, B.Sc (Geology) - Senior Geologist
S. America Representative
Juan has over 15 years of experience in mineral exploration from greenfield targeting to development drilling across Latin and North America. He was a senoir geologist on the team that discovered the 4.6MOz (measured and inferred) Titiribi Gold deposits in Antioquia, Colombia. Juan has also managaed mineral licenses across Latin America.
Ronald has been working in the mineral exploration and mining industry for the past 12 years and has extensive experience across the sector. His past roles have included being an IT, GIS, and database manager for the Titiribi project and country manager for both Copperbelt Minerals Colombia and DTMW Private Limited. His work has contributed directly to the discovery of gold, copper, zeolite, iron and emerald projects. In addition to his work at N-Side he is currently developing a gold, palladium, iridium, platinum and cobalt mineral sands project in Colombia.
